Officers investigating an assault believed to be a hate crime in Colchester are asking for witnesses. Police were notified of an assault in which a woman had a rock thrown at her and verbally abused by a group of up to 7 teenagers aged around 15 years old.

Of the group, one girl was wearing an all-pink outfit, and one boy was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a dark hoodie. The incident occurred between 5.15 - 5.30pm on Tuesday 8 April at Castle Park, Colchester, near to the public conveniences at the rear of Holly Trees.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: "We are treating this as a hate crime and are asking anyone with any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, to get in contact.
