Sara Pascoe is one of the most recognisable UK comedians on TV with her appearances of panel shows and hilarious stand-up work. The 43-year-old from, who grew up in Romford, Essex, rose to fame more than a decade ago after starting stand up comedy in 2007.
She later appeared on shows such as Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You and Would I Lie To You. Born in Dagenham, Essex, in 1981 to Gail née Newmarch and Derek Pascoe, Sara grew up in Essex.
Her parents divorced when she was young, and she was raised by her mum with her two younger sisters. She went to school at Eastbury Comprehensive School in Barking and later attended Gaynes School in Upminster.

Sara went on to study English at the University of Sussex and worked as an actor while supplementing her income with temporary work after graduation. Before her big break in comedy, Sara was a tour guide for four summers in London.
She started stand up in 2007 and came runner up to Katherine Ryan in the Funny Women award the following year. Sara performed her first show, Sara Pascoe Vs Her Ego, at Edinburgh Festival Fridge in 2010, which was was followed by a number of shows including Live at the Apollo, QI and the Comedian's Comedian Podcast hosted by Stuart Goldsmith.
She returned to Edinburgh Fridge in 2014 and toured the UK for the first time with the show Sara Pascoe Vs History. The show was nominated for the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award 2014 for Best Comedy Show.
From here Sara's career went from strength to strength as she appeared on more and more TV and radio shows and three books. More recently she starred in the first series of LOL: Last One Laughing UK, hosted by Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty.
Other comediens involved included Richard Ayoade, Bob Mortimer, Lou Sanders, Rob Beckett, Judi Love, Joe Wilkinson, Joe Lycett, Daisy May Cooper and Harriet Kemsley. Sara met her husband, Steen Raskopoulos, at an Australian comedy festival and they married in 2020.
After opening up about her fertility struggled, Sara gave birth to two sons following IVF treatment. The couple's first son, Theodore, was born in February 2022 while her second son, Albie, was born in October 2023.
After the birth of her second son Sara shared on Instagram "As a 42-year-old infertile woman, I can't believe my luck to have had two children (IVF). I also can't believe how much washing there is."
Although Sara does talk about her children and experience with IVF during her stand up shows, she doesn't share much of her children on social media.
