Two men have been arrested for robbery following a huge raid on a home in Essex. Police raided the home in Cornfields Road in South Woodham Ferrers on Tuesday (April 22) in connection with a robbery in Shenfield in March.

On March 4, a number of suspects threatened a driver in a car park in Hunter Avenue, Shenfield, at about 9pm and stole his car. Officers investigating this robbery believed they identified these suspects as being connected to a further offences of criminal damage in Kelvedon Hatch, where another victim’s vehicle was damaged with a knife.

This took place at about 1.30pm on April 10. After further enquiries, police officers descended on an address in South Woodham Ferrers and arrested two men, aged 23 and 19. The men, of no fixed abode, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and criminal damage.

Both have been released on bail with strict conditions until July 9 and July 15 respectively. DS Tristan Carter of Essex Police said: “These offences have a huge impact on their victims. These are violent crimes carried out in public, and we will not let suspects in these cases remain unidentified.

"I’m glad to say that incidents of this nature are rare in our district, and we are working hard to bring the number down further. We are continuing to build these cases and if anyone as any information about these and has not yet come forwards, please get in touch.”
