An Essex wedding venue that suddenly closed in March has been spotted as being up for sale on Rightmove. Old Essex Barn, located on the outskirts of Kelvedon, is a newly renovated and restored farm converted into a wedding and event venue.

With the most recent addition of a restaurant - the Old Essex Barn offered culinary delight for all visitors. In the heart of the Essex countryside, wedding guests and visitors were consistently being blown away by it's beautiful grounds and breathtaking scenic views on all sides.

However, the venue suddenly shut down on March 3 - with the director of Old Essex Barn stating that it was "through no fault of his own or his team". Since then, some couples had their weddings cancelled, and the venue has been spotted as being up for sale on Rightmove.

The listing, marketed by Knight Frank, says of the venue: "Nestled in the heart of the Essex Countryside, Old Essex Barn is a charming and rustic venue that dates back to the 15th century. The Property was acquired by the existing owners in 2019, and it originally formed part of Crabbs Farm. Since then, it has been transformed into a highly sought-after events venue, quickly establishing itself as a popular wedding destination in Essex.

"The Property comprises five luxurious en-suite farmhouse guest bedrooms and a bridal suite, along with seven outdoor lodges (The Shepherd's Huts) for extra guest accommodation. There is an additional barn which has been created to accommodate three further en-suite bedrooms.

"There are also outdoor landscaped gardens, a restaurant, indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, an outdoor courtyard space, a bridal dressing room and bridal lounge. Old Essex Barn presents an incoming purchaser a fantastic opportunity for both established investors in the sector looking to expand their portfolio and new entrants seeking their first acquisition."
