Revise the immigrations and asylum laws requiring anyone that does not enter the United States via a Port of Entry to be removed immediately. Move Federal Immigration Judges back under the Judicial branch . Currently removal orders and warrants are not legally binding to State and local Law Enforcement. Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
I am running for Congress as an Independent because I have heard the concerns of the people of El Paso and am tired of both the Democrats and Republicans letting us down. Let's face it, neither the Democrats nor Republicans have our best interests at heart. The parties only pretend to care about the people at election time and are more concerned about the party platform or what the lobbyists desire. We have been promised change for the better from almost everyone involved in government with none of them ever coming through for us. They hold us hostage on every issue. Whether it's taxes, immigration, or veteran's concerns, it's all ignored until election season rolls around. To sink even lower, both parties are too busy insulting each other and voting down party lines instead of coming together with a real solution for America. Finally, after the bickering has toned down, all that we are left with is higher taxes and more wars. These games are not what made America the country we all love. This needs to stop. I and millions of Americans believe it is time for us to take back control of our country. As an Independent I will work directly for you the people. I will do everything in my power to present to the people of El Paso every piece of legislation that is to voted upon and then take action. When was the last time a member of Congress asked you which way to vote on a particular piece of legislation and followed through? During this congressional session there have been over 6000 pieces of legislation drafted by members of Congress. Of those proposed, less than 200 have been voted into a law. My best estimate is that 75% of the bills introduced are not necessary are are designed to bog the system down and stall any real progress resulting in passing legislation that only benefits the special interests. We can't allow this to continue. I will strive to end the strife between the parties and work to get real results for the people of El Paso and the rest of the United States. El Paso, the Democrats have represented us in Congress for decades and all that we have to show for it is high taxes and poorly paid jobs. Our military veterans are not receiving the proper care that they need, our largest school district is nearly bankrupt, our children are not being properly educated, and our border is riddled with issues. I want for my family the same thing that you want for yours; an opportunity in my own city to prosper and watch my family grow and be successful. Voting for the Democrats and Republicans will prove to change nothing for our beautiful city. Voting for an Independent will mean that you are voting for a representative who works to satisfy a party's requirements, but instead works directly for you, the people who own the government. We have a chance to make real changes to our city. Let's not waste another opportunity on voting for a career politician who only seeks personal gain. Vote for someone who wants to make El Paso a place of prosperity for all of us! Vote for me, Sam Williams for Congress. Together we can take El Paso to another level![2] |
