Campaign

Campaign platform

Carrillo described the following platform on his campaign website:

As your U.S. Representative, I will:
  • Collaborate with local and state leaders to bring greater economic opportunities to El Paso.
  • Support legislation that will maintain or expand social services to the less fortunate.
  • Support legislation to maintain retirement and health care benefits for our retired teachers, veterans, the elderly, and others.
  • Work to safeguard the environment for future generations. Global warming is not a hoax. The science is real.
  • Educate Capitol Hill on border issues such as the importance of open trade and immigration. We do not need a wall!
  • Work with the Dept. of Education to provide greater resources to our public schools.[1]
—John Carrillo (2018)[2]
