Rayleigh’s High Street is set to see more closures, as major national banks will close their doors in the town. The closures are expected this coming May.
Following a growing trend in bank closures in recent years. Many banks cite a shift in customer preference towards online banking over face-to-face interactions as the cause of the closures.
Rayleigh is the latest location for high-street banks to close. Both Halifax and Lloyds will shut on May 20, and further closures are expected in other areas of Essex.

Later in the year, further areas will see closures from both major banks. Lloyds will close branches in Hornchurch and Loughton later this year, while Halifax will close sites in Brentwood, and Wickford.
