Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday announced the appointments of L. Michael Clark and Jacqueline M. Arroyo to Santa Clara County Superior Court judgeships.

Clark, 53, of San Jose has worked for the Santa Clara County Counsel’s Office since 1987, and until recently served as the senior lead deputy county counsel.

He also worked as an associate with the James E. Jackson law firm from 1982 to 1986. Clark, who earned his law degree from Santa Clara University’s School of Law, replaces retiring Judge Ronald Lisk.

Arroyo, 45, of Scotts Valley has served as a deputy district attorney for the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office since 1990. She held the same position in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office from 1988 to 1990. Arroyo replaces retiring Judge Charles Cory.

Each will be paid $178,789 a year, according to the governor’s office.
