Sundance Channel has found its leading man for Rectify, the legal drama created by Oscar winner Ray McKinnon (The Accountant). Australian actor Aden Young (I, Frankenstein, Killer Elite) will play Daniel Holden, who must put his life back together after serving 19 years on Georgia’s Death Row before DNA evidence calls his conviction into question.
McKinnon will executive produce through his shingle Zip Works along with Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein’s Gran Via. Johnson and Bernstein are producers on sister network AMC’s Emmy-winning Breaking Bad, which kicks off its final season this summer.

Rectify is Sundance Channel’s first in-house original scripted series and continues a scripted push at the channel that has included the limited series Carlos – which was a surprise winner at the 2011 Golden Globes — and the upcoming Jane Campion miniseries Top of the Lake.
Rectify is set to premiere in 2013 on Sundance Channel in the U.S. and throughout Europe, Asia and North America on Sundance Channel Global.
The supporting cast includes Abigail Spencer (who stars as Holden’s sister), Clayne Crawford (who plays his step-brother), Jonah Lotan (as his lawyer) and J. Smith Cameron (who stars as Holden’s mother).
Young is repped by Paradigm and Shanahan Management.
