If the New Orleans Pelicans make the playoffs, it would be only the third time in the last 30 seasons in which a division sent all of its teams to the playoffs (1985-86 Midwest, 2005-06 Central). The Pelicans would join their Southwest Division rivals the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Dallas Mavericks in the postseason.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Southwest’s .635 win percentage this season would be the highest of any division under the current format (since 2004-05).
