Debra Gore is a member of the Board of Trustees, appointed by Governor Newsom in December 2024. She is currently serving as a consultant for equitable community development both in California and nationally. Debra served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for The Greenlining Institute from 2019‒2025. She also served as Executive Director of the San Francisco Conservation Corps from 2015 to 2019, and Chief Development Officer at the Cal Alumni Association from 2012 to 2014.
Ms. Gore’s extensive career also includes leadership roles in higher education and business operations. She was Executive Director of the Department of Athletics at the University of San Francisco from 2006 to 2010 and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Business Operations at Stanford University from 1999 to 2006. Prior to these roles, she was Business Development Manager at Bechtel Enterprises, Inc., from 1993 to 1999.
A longtime advocate for community engagement, Ms. Gore brings to the Board her experience addressing complex challenges in governance and organizational leadership. She provides extensive financial and business risk advice and financial structuring to both private and nonprofit organizations. She has served as chair and member of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco 12th District Community Advisory Council and the Pacific Gas & Electric California Community Advisory Group. She also served on the Board of Directors for the National Insurance Alliance of California.
Ms. Gore earned her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Management Sciences from Stanford University.
