HOLLYWOOD — Producers Ashok Amritraj and David Hoberman are ending their three-year partnership, with Hoberman in negotiations to leave Hyde Park Entertainment for a first-look production deal at the Walt Disney Studios.
Amritraj will maintain Hyde Park as its chairman and CEO. Shingle recently renewed its output deal for continental Europe with Zurich-based Epsilon.
Under a multiyear relationship, Epsilon acquires continental European distribution rights to Hyde Park titles, said Epsilon managing director Markus Barmettler.
Continuity
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Hyde Park,” Barmettler told Daily Variety. “We will work with Hyde Park and particularly Ashok Amritraj in the future, and we hope to get many more successful pictures from them.”

While Epsilon will handle the films’ distribution, Natexis Banques Populaires will finance those Hyde Park titles that are not funded by the studios. Natexis worked with Hyde Park on the upcoming Disney release “Moonlight Mile” and also will handle “Personal Injuries,” the directorial debut of Dustin Hoffman.
Hyde Park also has output deals in South Africa, the Middle East, Turkey and Israel.
Mouse, Lion deals
Company has a first-look deal with MGM and a second-look deal with the Walt Disney Co. Disney and Hyde Park recently wrapped the Steve Martin starrer “Bringing Down the Houze” and will reteam on “Raising Helen,” starring Kate Hudson for helmer Garry Marshall.
Hoberman is a former president of production for Walt Disney Pictures whose producing credits include “George of the Jungle,” “The Negotiator” and “The Other Sister.”
Previous Hyde Park titles include “Bandits,” “Antitrust” and “What’s the Worst That Could Happen?”
