MOHAI’s Education programs foster exploration, inquiry and discovery whether you are at the museum, in a classroom, or at home. Our fun and hands-on programs encourage critical thinking about historic and contemporary events, promote civic engagement, and foster personal connections to our region’s history and communities.

Field trips
Bring your students to MOHAI for a hands-on experience that they will always remember. Classes explore exhibits through self-guided activities and uniquely themed inquiry-based programs led by MOHAI educators.

Idea Lab
Explore new ideas and historic innovations, build skills for innovation, and let your imagination soar with rotating activities for the young and young at heart.

Portable Museums
Bring hands-on learning to your classroom with primary sources including historic objects, documents, and photographs, and standards-supporting lesson plans and additional resources for educators.

Online Curricula
Use MOHAI-created curriculum—complete with primary source materials from the museum's collections—in your classroom to support exploration of Seattle history topics.

Rainy Day History Podcast
This teen-created podcast spotlights histories from Seattle's past that help us understand how it became the city we know today.

Scholarship Opportunities
MOHAI offers scholarships to schools and student groups for both field trips and Portable Museum program rentals.
The scholarship program serves learners to ensure no student is ever turned away because of financial limitations.
