Companies and platoons in the battalion were mostly named after their fallen fellows – “Maciek”, “Rudy”, “Alek”, “Felek”. The unit has participated in many diversionary actions. During the Warsaw Uprising, they crossed the battlefield from Wola, via the Old Town, Śródmieście, Czerniaków and Mokotów.
For fighting in the Uprising, the battalion was decorated with the Silver Cross of the Virtuti Militari Order.
After the war, many of the battalion’s soldiers met persecution from communist authorities.
