Lyon are the defending champions, having won their record-extending 17th title in the 2023–24 season.[7]

The season began on 20 September 2024 and is scheduled to end on 16 May 2025 with the play-off final.[8]

After a 4–0 win over Fleury, Lyon were mathematically defended their first place finish, and will play in the playoffs.[9]
