Last updated: Dec. 17, 2024
Since 2012, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) have identified a combined total of 701 target districts.
The DCCC and the NRCC are subsidiaries of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, respectively. The goal of both committees is to elect members of their respective parties to the U.S. House of Representatives.
To reach their goals in each election cycle, the DCCC and NRCC identify target districts, or U.S. House districts held by the opposing party or open districts that they hope to win in the upcoming election. Both committees provide the candidates running in their respective target districts with research, polling, and funding.
Since 2012, Ballotpedia has tracked how these committees have performed in their target districts in each election cycle.
This page breaks down how the DCCC and NRCC fared in their respective target districts in each election cycle.
