Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan (Democratic Party) was a member of the U.S. House, representing Northern Mariana Islands' At-Large Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2009. He left office on January 3, 2025.
Sablan (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Northern Mariana Islands' At-Large Congressional District. He did not appear on the ballot for the general election on November 5, 2024.
Although Sablan was elected as an independent candidate, he caucused with the Democratic party.[1][2]
Sablan served as a Democratic member of the Northern Mariana Islands Commonwealth Legislature from 1982 to 1986. During that time he was an aide to U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii.[3]
On January 21, 2024, Sablan announced he would step down from the United States House of Representatives at the end of his term. [4]
Biography
Sablan was born in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.[5] His election in 2008 made him the first elected delegate to the U.S. House from the Northern Mariana Islands.[6] Sablan served in the Army Reserve from 1981 to 1986.[3]
