Internet banking

Opening of Banking Operations through Internet Banking has been the one of the biggest addition to the Banking World in the recent time. It has made Banking operations available any time, any where at the convenience of the customers.

However, the Internet Banking is fraught with enormous risk, if necessary precautions are not taken.
Some of the important dos and donts of Internet Banking which a customer should be aware of when accessing an account through online Banking.

Dos:

Always visit Internet Banking site directly through the website https://www.centralbank.net.in or https://www.onlinesbi.com Change the system generated password when you first login on online banking, even if system does not prompt for automatic change. Before entering the user Id and password, ensure that the page/address bar displayed an https:// not http://. Also see the lock sign Check the Digital Certificate of the website by double clicking on padlock. The name of the subscriber on the Digital Certificate should be the web address.

Enter the User ID and Password only at the authenticated login page.
Keep your computer configured with latest anti-virus software. Be suspicious of any email with request for personal information.

Check your account and transaction history regularly.

All your transactions travel via an SSL encrypted medium (minimum of 128-bit to maximum of 256-bit SSL tunnel), the highest level of security on the internet.

Donts

Do not access the Internet Banking website through a link from another website or a link in an e-mail. Do not share information like user id, password etc. Do not send personal information to anyone through e-mail or share over telephone. Do not have other browsers open at the same time when you are operating your internet banking operations. Do not respond to e-mail seeking for your password, login to Internet Banking or PIN. No Bank will demand your PIN or Password or you may call the bank to know the factual position. Do not trust suspicious/ unknown e-mail and avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages. Do not access Internet Banking site at Cyber cafes and shared PCs. Never download software or files from an unknown source to avoid becoming a Phishing Victim. Do not provide any information on page which might have come up as a pop-up on your computer. In case you smell anything fishy, call and confirm from our Bank before you act as requested.

period/ current period Download/ print of statement of account in various formats for a specified period/ current period. Funds transfer between own accounts Funds transfer between own account to any third party account maintained in any core banking branch up to specified limits. Stop payment of cheques

Transaction must be keep secure:


Use your personal computer. Dont use public computer to make online transaction. Keep your User-id/ATM/Credit Card at safe place. Do not write your password anywhere (just memorized it). Password is very secure and min to 8 char(Use combination of char + numeric + special symbol to make your password) Password is not your name, relative name, any date or any grammatical meaning(lion, kota, etc). Ex of good password: exr18+78&, trp7*@g89, uyt5%9^8hts, sjuw9*%8+0

MOBILE BANKING
Mobile banking(also known as M-Banking, SMS Banking etc.)

All internet - banking transactions can now be simply done on mobiles phones.
The application covers Savings bank, Demat, Credit Card and Loan accounts. Customers can also pay their utility bills and insurance premium through this facility. ICICI & SBI Bank offers this facility free of charge to customers
