A job interview is a formal conversation between an employer and a job applicant to check
if the person is suitable for a specific position. There are different types of interviews used
in different settings. Pharmacy students may face interviews when applying for hospital
training, Drug Inspector posts, or internships in pharmaceutical companies.

Knowing the types of interviews helps you prepare better and perform with more
confidence.

Types of Interviews

1. One-on-One Interview

o One interviewer and one candidate

o Example: You appear alone before a pharmacist for internship selection

o Common in clinics and private hospitals

2. Panel Interview

o A group of interviewers (2 or more people) ask questions

o Example: Drug Inspector interview by Public Service Commission

o Interviewers may include senior officers, subject experts, or HR

3. Group Interview

o Many candidates are interviewed together

o Focus is on teamwork, communication, and leadership
