5.a) Explain with neat diagram how rad gaps can be used for measurement of high voltages.
Compare its performance with a sphere gap.

b) A peak reading voltmeter is required to measure voltage upto 150kV. The peak
voltmeter uses an RC circuit, a micrometer and a capacitance potential divider. The
potential divider has a ratio of 122:1 and the micrometer can read upto 10 µA.
