to please stand and let us (the student will stand
pray. and begin to pray)
c. Securing Cleanliness Before you take your
seats, kindly please
check if there are pieces
of paper under your (the students will pick up
chairs, then pick it up all the pieces of paper
and arrange your chairs and arrange their chairs
properly. properly)
Are you done?
Okay! You may now Yes ma’am!
take your seats.
d. Checking of Do we have any
Attendance absentees today?
That’s good! None ma’am!
e. Checking of Last meeting, I gave you
Assignments an assignment, isn’t it?
So, did you do your Yes ma’am!
homework?
Very good! Then kindly Yes ma’am!
pass it in front and I will
check it later.
(the students will pass
their assignments in
f. Recall Now, let us have a short front)
review about our topic
last time. Did you still
remember what we had
discussed yesterday?
Good, then who would Yes ma’am!
like to remind us?
Yes Cristy!
Yesterday, we discussed
about the Air Pollution
wherein it consists of
Absolutely! Yesterday, gasses and fine particles.
we talked about Air
Pollution.
And it also has 9 types,
isn’t it?
So, what are those again? Yes ma’am!
Yes Haide!
The 9 ypes of Air
pollution are Sulfur
Dioxide, Nitrogen
Oxide, Ammonia,
Volatile Organic
Compounds, Methane,
Carbon Monoxide, Dust
Particles, Ozone and
Radioactive radiation
Excellent! from outer space.
How about its sources?
Yes Liza!
The sources of air
pollution is divided into
two types; the renewable
and non-renewable
Absolutely! resources.
Is there any question or
clarification regarding
the definition, kinds and
sources of Air pollution?
None ma’am!
Ok. Since everything is
already clear, and we are
done to discuss the
definition, types and
sources of air pollution,
let us now proceed to our
new lesson for today.
Are you ready?
Yes ma’am!
3 B. DEVELOPMENTAL
minutes ACTIVITY
a. Motivation Before we start in our Bottle
new discussion, I want to
show you something.
(Show a bottle)
I have here a bottle. And
I want you to describe
this.
Who would like to?
Yes Shaenna! The bottle is plastic.
That’s right!
(call a student)
But let us see what will
happen to this bottle after
what she’s going to do.
(stamp the bottle)
What happened to the
bottle?
Yes Edelyn! The bottle wrecked and
ruined.
Absolutely! Why the
bottle wrecked? Because she step to it.
Excellent! Now what do
we call the reason why
something is happen?
Yes Gigie! We called it the Cause.
Perfect! How about the
result of the cause?
Yes Shaenna! It is the Effect ma’am!
Precisely! So, what do
we mean by Effect
again?
Yes Gab! Effect is the result of the
cause.
Very good! Effect is the
result when something is
done or happens. It is the
state or the condition of
something after the cause
happened.
In our ecosystem, who
can give me some things
that have an effect? Killing of animals which
results to species
extinction.
Very good! Any other
example? Because of the Air
pollution, the animals
died.
1 b. Presentation of the Alright! Based on what
minute Lesson we did a while ago, what
do you think is our topic
for today?
Yes Aiza! Maybe our topic for
today is somewhat
connected with effects in
the ecosystem.
Very good observation Letter
Aiza! cuts
As you can remember,
there are lots of Air
pollutants in our
environment. Those have
corresponding effects.
And that’s what our topic
for today. Furthermore,
you will learn those
effects of Air pollution in
plants, animals and
humans or how air
pollutants harmed the
ecosystem and most
especially if why we
need to know all of
those.
1 c. Presentation of Thus, you are challenge Cartolina
minute Objectives to achieve these Colored
following objectives. papers
Who would like to read?
Yes Rossana! Objectives
At the end of the
discussion, 90% of the
students are expected to:
a. identify the effects of
Air Pollution in plants,
animals and humans;
b. illustrate the
ecosystem with and
without air pollution;
and
c. cite the importance of
being aware on the
different effects of Air
pollution in the
ecosystem.
3 d. Activity To attain our objectives, Manila
minutes 1. Pre-activity let’s have an activity. paper
I will divide you into Marker
three groups. Each group
will be provided a
graphic organizer. All
you have to do is to fill
out the graphic organizer
about the information
needed regarding to the
different effects of Air
pollution in plants,
animals and humans.
Please count. (The students will count)
Okay! You may now
proceed to your
respective groups.
You are only given 5
minutes to work on it and
2 minutes for your
presentation. Cartolina
Please be guided by these
rubrics:
Content 40%
Clarity of Presentation
35%
Cooperation 15%
Speed 10%
Total 100%
5 2. Activity Proper Okay, you may now
minutes start.
(The teacher will
facilitate the students if
they are doing well) GROUP 1
EFFECTS IN
PLANTS
GROUP 2
EFFECTS IN
ANIMALS
GROUP 3
EFFECTS IN
HUMANS
4 3. Post Activity Are you done? Yes ma’am!
minutes
Okay, you may now
present your work.
Who would like to
present first?
Yes, Group 1. (The group leader of
group 1 will present their
work)
Very Good! Let’s give
group 1 a round of
applause. (applause)
Now, let’s hear the work
of group 2. (The group leader of
group 2 will present their
work)
Another round of
applause for group 2. (applause)
And last but not the least,
let us call for the group 3. (The group leader of
group 3 will present their
work)
Okay, also let’s give a
round of applause for
group 3. (applause)
Excellent class. All of
you had great
presentations.
Now, let me grade you
according to our rubrics.
15 e. Analysis and How do you find our
minutes Abstraction activity? Interesting!
That’s good to hear!
When an ecosystem gets
polluted, the natural
balance in the system is
disturbed and this affects
the different organisms in
different ways including
plants, animals and
humans. But let’s now
first discuss the effect of
air pollution in plants.
Here are the effects of air
pollution in PLANTS. 1. Reduced growth Cartolina
2. Changes in Colored
biochemical process papers
3. Changes in
physiological process
4. Weakens trees
How about in animals?
Here are the effects of air
pollution in ANIMALS. 1. Contaminants of food
and water resources
2. Destruction of their
habitats
3. Poisons and often
kills fishes
4. Causes heart rhythm
abnormalities in dogs
5. Harms the heart &
lungs of mice and
other animals
How about in humans?
Here are the effects of air
pollution in HUMANS. Short-term effects
1. Irritation to the eyes,
nose and throat
2. Headaches
3. Nausea
4. Allergic reactions
Long-term effects
1. Chronic respiratory
disease
2. Lung cancer
3. Heart disease
4. Damage to brain,
nerves, liver, or
kidneys.
These are just some of so
many effects of air
pollution in plants,
animals and humans.
And there are still a lot of
organisms that are
affected by the air
pollution.
2 f. Generalization Now, we are done to
minutes discuss the various
effects of air pollution in
the ecosystem.
Do you have any
question? None ma’am!
If none, then I will be the
one to ask.
What are the 3 organisms
again that are most
affected by air pollution? Plants, Animals and
Humans
That’s right! What are
the effects of air
pollution in plants? It reduced growth, it
changes in biochemical
process and
physiological process of
plants and it weakens
trees.
Very good! How about in
animals? It contaminates &
destructs animals’
habitats, food and water
resources, poisons and
kills fishes, causes heart
rhythm abnormalities in
dogs and harms the heart
& lungs of mice and
other animals.
Perfect! How about in
humans? Air pollution irritates our
eyes, nose & throat, it
also provide headaches,
nausea, allergic
reactions, chronic
respiratory disease, lung
cancer, heart disease,
and damage to brain,
nerves, liver, or kidneys.
Absolutely!
8 C. Application I will divide you into 2 Cartolina
minutes groups. I want you to Marker
draw the things you Pastel
imagine about the
possible outlook of our
ecosystem with and
without air pollution. The
first group will draw the
possible status of our
ecosystem if our
surroundings will triple
its air pollution. While
the other group will draw
the possible status of our
ecosystem if air pollution
doesn’t exist. (each group will present
their works in front of
the class)
See the difference
between the ecosystem
without air pollution and
the other with one.
Is it important for us to
know those effects of air
pollution in the
ecosystem? Yes ma’am!
Yes, it is. But why?
Yes Evangeline! Because it makes us
become aware about the
things happened,
happening and might be
happen in the ecosystem
because of air pollution.
That’s right! But do you
think there are still ways
to make our environment
become clean again? Yes ma’am!
Correct! Then who can
give me some ways?
Yes Lauro! By burying garbage
instead of burning it.
Perfectly right! And I
know that there are still
lots of ways that we can
do to make our air
become fresh again and
to make our ecosystem
become clean once more.
IV. EVALUATION
Provide what are asked.
1. What are the effects of air pollution in the ecosystem?
2. As a citizen, what can you do to lessen adverse environmental impacts of air pollution?
3. Is it important for us to be aware about the effects of air pollution? Why?
4. Illustrate the status of animals/plants/humans if the ecosystem produced more air
pollutants.
V. ASSIGNMENT
I. Answer the following questions.
1. List down other effects of air pollution in the ecosystem?
2. What are some measures that you can do to help prevent air pollution?
II. Study the following.
1. Water Pollution
2. Sources and Effects of Water pollutions.
