ACTIVITY
The CMVSHS teachers participated in the 2018 School-Based Research Congress for Teachers
in preparation for the 2018 Division Research Conference to be held on December 4, 2018 at Saluysoy
Integrated School.
The program started with an opening prayer led by Ms. April D. Matus and followed by the
Makabayan Song led by Mrs. Marivic n. Jabonero, then an Opening Remarks by Mr. Marlon B.
Marvilla, the FEA President. Mrs. Elsilda P. Buangan gave an Inspirational Message to the teachers
and research presenters. Mr. Paolo D. Estores was the emcee of the program.
The following were the presenters and their research titles:

ACTIVITY
City of Meycauayan Vocational Senior High School has one delegate for the Regional
Schools Press Conference, John Abraham P. Balderama, he won third place in the Editorial
Cartooning (English Category) during the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC). Thus,
qualified him to attend and participate in the Division Intensive Training of the Regional
Schools Press Conference (RSPC).
The said intensive training was held in Malhacan Integrated School on October 10 –
12, 2018. John Abraham P. Balderama attended the three (3) days intensive training under
the supervision of the assigned trainer in the Editorial Cartooning Category. He learned
different ways of tracing and drawing symbols in editorial cartooning and practiced his skill.
The training enhanced his skill in editorial cartooning and prepared him to compete in the
2018 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

to further enhance their skills, and
c. Cultivate the culture of research among educational practitioners.

7. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY
The CMVSHS teachers participated in the 2018 Division Research Conference held on December 4, 2018 at
Saluysoy Integrated School.
The conference was participated by thirty (30) schools in the Schools Division of City of Meycauayan with
210 teacher-participants and the presenters and together with their school heads. The OIC-Asst. Schools Division
Superintendent, Dr. Cecillia E. Valderama and the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Norma P. Esteban graced
the event and encouraged the presenters and participants with their inspirational messages.
Dr. Jerome T. Buenviaje, a professor from the University of the Philippines was the invited guest speaker to
talk about “Evidence-Based Practices through Research” during the Plenary. Afterwards, the parallel paper
presentations were conducted in different categories. The eight presenters from the City of Meycauayan
Vocational Senior High School presented their research paper in the rooms assigned to them.
The awarding and distribution of certificates were held during the closing program. City of Meycauayan
Vocational Senior High School bagged all Best Paper Awards in the Senior High School Teacher Category:
Leah P. Vilog – 1st Place, Cindy D. Oliva – 2nd Place, Marlon B. Marvilla – 3rd Place. Mrs. Elsilda P. Bunagan won 1st
in the School Head Category for High School. The school also won 3 rd Place as Best Implementer of Research and
Development Program. Mrs. Leah P. Vilog won as 3rd Place for Best Research Mentor in the Schools Division of
City of Meycauayan.
