Problem 1. Packages are thrown down an incline at A with a velocity of 1 m/s. The packages
slide along the surface ABC to a conveyor belt which moves with a velocity of 2 m/s. The
distance and between the packages and all surfaces. Determine (a) the speed of the package at C,
and (b) the total distance traveled by the package as it slides on the conveyor belt.
Problem 2. An athlete is holding 30 lb of weights at a height of 6 inches above the stack as
shown. To lower the weights, she applies a constant force of 5 lb to the handle. Determine the
velocity of the weights immediately before they hit the stack.
