I、 summarize

The steam turbine pure diff press of high pressure fire resistant oil DEH control system
project, which accomplished with MACS DEH system (Digital Electro-Hydraulic Control
System, DEH) of Hollysys Automation Co.,LTD.The following function of this control system
is below:
l Speed Loop:in order to come true large speed control,from the set speed of start-up to
3000 rpm constant Speed,and 110% overspeed test. before synchronization ,operator can set
objective speed and rising rate on speed PID control loop of main DEH frame.
l Power Control:after synchronization,we can set objective power and loading rate on
power PID control loop of main DEH control frame.
l Valve Control:after synchronization ,operator can push add and subtract button to change
pitch degree.
l High pressure valve control:instruct allocation in different working such as single valve
and sequence valve ,to four high pressure valve.
l Power limitation : when the set power above the limitation power,power limitation
action,then turn down the CV gradually.
l Main Steam Pressure Limitation : when the main steam pressure below the low
limitation value,low limitation action,then gradually slow down CV pitch to recover steam
pressure.
l Low vacuum limitation: automationally limit the max power of the set according to
vacuum level.
l Valve Leak Test:Do main throttle valve and CV leak test separately,and record the test
time automatically.
l High pressure interrupt test function: do test to any one of AST solenoid actuate valve
alone.
l OPC overspeed limitation : The fuction of OPC overspeed limitation is close
instantaneous the CV control valve directly by the quick closed solenoid valve, which is to
prevent the turboset overspeed when it load rejection.
l 103% protection:under stepout,when the speed over 103%,namely 3090r/min,OPC
solenoid actuate valve action,CV closed,when the protection situation disappear,then fix
3000r/min again.
l 110% protection:under run, when the speed over 110%,namely 3300r/min,DEH send
trip signal.
l Emergency handle : on synchronization , due to DEH control detail can’t work as
normal,we can handle switch to emergency handle.operator can control CV、IV hydraulic
servomotor directly with the add and subtract button of hand operations.
l Simulation function : on halt,we can do DEH arithmetic logic and familiar with the
operation.

II、 DEH frame operation description

On the MACS system online operation frame,such as  kick“DEH”icon and 
enter “the main frame”. 
The operation frame of DEH inclue the main diff press control 、zeroing 
and amplitude、 the diff press test and EH system.The operationer cut over 
the frame conveniently by kick the cut over button on the bottom of the page. 
the system state display place show the system net mode,the indicator 
color of various of module,reticle and control station,green is normal and 
red is in the fault. state indicator light separately are :gates has hung、
stepout、has tripped、main steam door open、main steam door close、all valves 
closed、emergency handle、already grid 、run and so on.there is turbine state 
and the current running parameter. 
Under the menu bar,showing various main  parameters and current state of 
the set. 
Indicator light or block bright on the operation button are both expressing steam generation
enters such running state, if button light (dark)is invalid,steam generation exit such running state.

III、 Start-up

3.1Set initial state before sart up 


Before the set sart-up,the DEH main frame:
“has under voltage trip”indicate light bright;
“stepout” indicate light bright;
“main inlet throttle-stop valve all closed” indicate light bright;
“all valves closed” indicate light bright;
The other indicate lights dark.
Hard DRAM:
CV aperture indication is normal, “play brake”button light is bright,the
other button light dark..the power switch of overspeed test key on
“normal”.
3.2 Start-up steps:
1. start timing oil pump and EH high pressure oil pump.
2. first check the electric power source of controller carbinet if normal,220VAC power
source offer OPC solenoid valve if sent to the DEH controller carbinet,the work oil
pressure of various section if normal.
3. kick“gates hung” button of the main frame or “gates hung ” button of the hard
DRAM to hang the gates,gates hung light bright indicate this operation is success,and
gates has hung light turn bright.

4. kick“run”button to the state,the valve will open,the accordance state on the DEH
frame will change, “ system has hung ” 、 “ the valve fully open ” light will
bright,and speed control block will bright and the set in waiting impulse starting state.
3.3 Rise speed
Before the steam generation Synchronization,DEH is speed closed-loop without
difference adjustment,which setpoint is given speed.the diviation between the given and real
speed,after PID regulator,through the servo system control oil motivation degrees,to make the
real speed change following the given speed.
After objective speed set,the given speed rise with the set loading rate approach to the
objective speed,when the set entering into critical speed section,the loading rate automatically
quickly change to 400rpm/min;if the loading rate is above 400rpm/min before entering critical
section,so the loading rate keep the original constant.During the loading,generally steam
generation need warming so as to reduce heat stress. When the warming time is come or the
“warmming” button is kicked,the warming is over,the set speed goes on to the objective
speed .
F The objective speed is the expected speed;the given speed is 
the request speed after deal with the speed.  
3.4 Set appropriate rise speed and object speed
The set decides set status according to the temperature of CV jar wall During it has hang
brake,the system will choose automatically loading rate (cold statu 100rpm/min、warm statu
200rpm/min、hot statu 300rpm/min and extremely statu 500rpm/min).operator kick “set warm
time”window,fill in accordance automation warming time in that point according to the
set state. kick the left key of mouse in the objective speed input block ,then input the target
speed which set 3000 r/min in general,and enter.The set in impulse starting.
DEH will set target speed automatically under the below situations:
l when the steam generator has just run,the present real speed is the target speed;
l when the oil switch is cut off,the target speed is 3000 r/min;
l if steam generator has hang brake,the target speed track the given speed which track the real
speed;
l the high objection speed limitation: 3060 r/min as the overspeed test key on
normal;3390r/min as under 103% test state or overspeed test key on test state.permission of
overspeed test,otherwise as 3060 r/min;
l the target speed set mistaken in the critical section,alter the value as the low value of critical
speed section,and the sepecific data set according to the machine.
3.5 Rub check
l if the set need rub check, after the set setting the objection speed as 500
r/min,when the set automation in impulse starting to about 500 r/min,play brake
and halt,check in the set coasting operation.
3.6 Impulse starting

l After setting the objective speed,the given speed will rise with default  
loading rate to approach objective speed,the set start to impulse 
starting; 
l The driver amend the value  in the rise speed input box according to the 
real situation of loading rate,and the permit value range is 0 ~ 800 
rpm/min; 
l Along with increaseing of the given speed,total given valve value 
increase,the servo motor start-up,the set speed increase; 
l 500rpm warm up:when the set speed rise to 500 r/min,the “warm up”light 
bright,the set maintain 500 r/min;warmming time(drive sets warming time 
in the set  window of automation  warming time ) or push down the  “warm 
up”button to continue to rise speed; 
l Speed over critical 
When the given speed entering critical section,the set automatic rising 
with over 400 rpm/min to impulse the critical speed section.the set 
critical speed section is 1400~1550 r/min、1750~2100 r/min.
l 1200rpm warm up:when the set speed rise to 1200 r/min,the “warm up ”
light bright , the set maintain 1200 r/min ; warmming time ( drive sets 
warming time in the set  window of automation warming time)or push down 
the “warm up”button to continue to rise speed; 
l 2300rpm warm up:when the set speed rise to 2300 r/min,the “warm up”
light bright , the set maintain 2300 r/min ; warmming time ( drive sets 
warming time in the set  window of automation warming time)or push down 
the “warm up”button to continue to rise speed; 
l When the set rise to 2950 r/min,the loading speed automatic change to 50 
r/min; 
l Operatior control 
During the loading up,(1)kick“given holding” button,the light bright,the set
keep present speed;if the speed in the critical speed section,the set automatically falling to
the low limitation value of the section;(2)amend objective speed and loading rate at any
time.
3.7 3000 r/min constant speed
When the given speed reach the objective value,the set maintain the objective speed
3000 r/min.After new set or heavy repair, the first start-up need various of electrical test.
When making false parallel experiment,generator disconnection link is cut,DEH receive
false parallel signal,after the oil feeder switch over,due to generator didn’t grid,DEH is still
in the speed control state.
3.8 automation corresponding period

after DEH receive add and subtract sigal of the correspond period,kick
“corresponding period” button,“corresponding period” light is bright,turn to
corresponding period mode.After DEH receive add and subtract sigal of the correspond period
equipment of electric side,the speed keep in 2985~3015 r/min,the set rise with 60
r/min/min change rate to the corresponding speed.
3.9 Synchronization on Initial Load
When the corresponding period situation is satisfied,the oil feeder switch,DEH
automatically increase given value to make the generation automatic take on initial load in
case of the inverse power.After Synchronization DEH in the valve state,then go to load up.
M When the set during the diff rise speed,can’t switch to emergency handle,if switch to
emergency handle state after synthronize,if the set stepout at that time,which result
in the set automationally tripped.only restart the set after waiting the servo block
switch to automation.

IV、 Load control

4.1Valve control run up


After Synchronization on Initial Load,DEH automatic turn to valve 
control,the operator can set objective valve and valve change rate orkick 
add and subtract button of”valve control” to change the total given valve 
value(the unit is %),to control CV gate degree. 
4.2 power control run up
After the system Synchronization ,DEH system automationally turn to“valve
control”.When the power control situation is satisfied,input load feedback. 
Power controller is a PID regulator,the deviation between given and real 
power ,which by calculating to gives a load reference to control valve 
degree,and the main goal is to maintain the power is constant. 
When the load isn’t limitation action in 3% -105% rating power,kick“power control”
button enter power control mode.set appropriate load up rate and objective power, the set 
power automatic approach with the present loading rate to the objective 
value.operator can change the loading rate in the rating range of 0%~10%. 
When the limitation or protection is action,the set quit power control.
kick“power control”、“valve control” button can come true without disturb
switch.
F Only switch to power control when the power is above 3% of rating power .
4.3 singal and sequence valve
instruct allocation in different working such as single valve and sequence valve ,to four high
pressure valve.
The steam entering mode to four CV of High pressure jar of steam turbine is two:one is
four CV aperture is identical,called singal valve mode,the advantage is fully lap make good

warming effect and even expand.the other is four CV open with sequence according to rate
curve, aperture according to the allocation of the curve,called sequence valve mode,the
advantage is throttle lost is small and economic effect is good.
DEH provide two running mode,cold start is default singal valve mode, hot and
extremely hot start is default sequence valve mode,both of running mode can be switch after
synchronization.
Under synchronization,kick“signal or sequence valve control”button can switch to
each other,light during the switching is flicker indicate the switch goes on,the switch time is
10 min.

V、 Frequence regulation

When the turboset is paralled in,in order to guarantee the electricity quanlity require to the
electricity net frequency offered ,we need put into frequency regulation function in
ordinary.under the diff press control mode,such fuction is always exist. such fuction can just
work.the given frequency regulation is change as the diversity factor.
In order to undertake reasonable frequency value,adjust the diversity factor、deadband
identical to the diversity factor、dead-band of hydraulic control system.
dead-band can be adjust between 3~6 %,the initial value is 4.5%;deadband also can be
adjust between 0~10 r/min,the initial value is 2r/min.

VI、 High-load limitation

After synchronization , if need amend high load limitation value, input high load
limitation value in the input key block of high load limitation of menu control frame;kick
“enter” key ,then alter is over.
When the load is above high load limitation,high load limitation action,DEH turn to
protection mode,total given valve descend with a speed of 60%/min,power control and
valve control button light is dark,the left of high-load limitation red light is bright at the
same time.load low the limitation value or power descend to 20% of rating value,action is
over.
When the action is over,the set is default automatic as valve control mode

VII、 Low steam pressure limitation


When the main steam pressure >90% rating value, kick“low steam pressure limitation”
button,button light is bright ,the function put into operation.kick the button again,quit the
function.
Under the “low main steam pressure limitation”is put into operation,when the set power
above power limitation figured out according to the main steam pressure ,which indicate the

main steam pressure is too low,the function action.,the total given valve descend with a speed of
6%/min.
When the main steam pressure limitation is action,low steam pressure action
indication light is bright,after the action is over ,the set automationally default as valve
control mode.

VIII、 Low vaccum limitation


When the power is normal after synthronized,kick“low vaccum limitation”button,button
light is bright then the function put into operation.kick“low vaccum limitation”button,to quit
the function.
When the set power above the limitation value accordance with the set vaccum,low vaccum
limitation action.total given valve descend by the rate of 60%/min
Low vaccum limitation is action,low vaccum limitation action indicator light is
bright.after the action is over ,the set default“valve control”mode.

IX、 Valve leak test

Valve leak test condition is:


(1) Generator escape the net;
(2) The speed is 3000±15 r/min;
9.1 main throttle valve leak test
Test steps are below:
(1) enter“system test” frame;
l make sure the test factor are all satisfied;
l turn test key of hard DRAM to “ test allow ” , system test frame “ test
allow”light bright;
(2) kick“main throttle valve leak test”button,button light bright,main throttle
closed slowly.
l After the main throttle valve fully closed, rotor lazy walking,record lazy
walking time automationally.
l When the speed descend to the accept speed,lazy walking time stop.
(3) kick“stop leak test”button,the set remain the current speed;
(4) turn test key of hard DRAM to“normal”,to make“test allow”button light
bright,lazy walking time clear to zero,main throttle valve leak test over.
9.2 CV leak test
Test steps are below:
(1) enter“system test” frame;
l make sure the test factor are all satisfied;
l turn test key of hard DRAM to “ test allow ” , system test frame “ test

allow”light bright;
(2) kick “ CV leak test ” button , button light is bright , the set automationally
accomplished the bellowing procedure:
l total given valve set zero;
l rotor lazy walking,record lazy walking time automationally.
l When the speed descend to the accept speed,lazy walking time stop.
(3) kick“stop leak test”button,the set remain the current speed;
(4) turn test key of hard DRAM to“normal”,to make“test allow”button light
bright,lazy walking time clear to zero,CV leak test over.

X、 Overspeed test

10.1“103%” overspeed limitation test


In order to check 103% overspeed protection function of DEH
(1) under stepout,kick bright“overspeed 103 test”button,enter 103% test state.
(2) After enter 103% test state,enter main frame to set objective speed above
103% ,namely above 3090r,the set will rise speed.
(3) After the actual speed above 3090r/min,system enter 103% protection state,OPC
solenoid pilot actuate valve action,all of valves will closed,system automationally
quit test state,when the actual speed descend to 3030r,system will quit 103%
protection state,objective speed will be limit at 3060 r,system will steady at 3060r.
(4) Alter objective speed value as 3000r/min。
10.2 electric 110% overspeed protection test
In order to check 110% overspeed protection function of DEH
① Under stepout,turn overspeed key power switch of hard DRAM to “electric
test position”;
② Enter main frame to set objective speed above 110% ,namely above 3300r,the
set will rise speed,when the actual speed above 3300r,system enter 110%
protection state,send out halt single,all of the valves will closed.
③ When the test is over,recover the key power switch to the normal position.
10.3 mechanical overspeed
In order to check action speed of mechanical overspeed protection
(1) Under stepout,turn overspeed key power switch of hard DRAM to “mechanical
test position”.
(2) Enter main frame to set objective speed above 110% ,namely above 3300r,the set
will rise speed until the fly harmmer fly to halt.
(3) When to make mechanical overspeed test,electric overspeed action value will push
back to 3390r,the operator need operate moved lever of the field to shut lock untest
fly harmmer.
(4) When the test is over,recover the key power switch to the normal position.

XI、 main throttle valve action test


When the set in run in normal,need make regular action test to MSV1、MSV2 two main
throttle valve.when the main throttle is action,action solenoid pilot actuate valve
electrification, travel route of hydraulic servomotor descend to 85%,action solenoid pilot
actuate valve lose electricity,the travel route of hydraulic servomotor recover to fully open.
Test steps are below:
(1) enter“system test” frame;
(2) turn test key of hard DRAM to“test allow”,system test frame “test allow”
light bright;
(3) kick bright“MSV1 action test” button,action MSV1 solenoid pilot actuated
valve action,main throttle valve slowly closed to 85%,test is successed,action
solenoid pilot actuate valve lose electricity,main throttle recover to fully open.if test
position travel route isn’t action,then send test failure signal,action solenoid pilot
actuate valve also lose electricity,main throttle recover to fully open.
(4) When the test is over,switch the test key of hard DRAM to“normal”,system
test frame“test allow”light is dark.

XII、 High pressure interrupt test

After the gate hang,we can make high pressure interrupt test,the steps are:
l Under the gate hang,the normal position of two test pressure key should be 1 closed and 2
cut off.
l Turn the test key power switch to test allow position.
l Kick bright one of the test buttons,the accordance solenoid pilot actuated valve action.
l Watch whether the pressure power switch action is true,test result is the light indication.we
can kick dark test allow button at any time to accomplished the test.
l Only can do one solenoid pilot actuate valve test at one time.
l Turn the test key power switch to the normal position.

XIII、 Emergency handle

13.1 operator switch to handle


After synthnorized,operator kick remain“handle”button of hard DRAM,button
light is bright,loose the button,servo units turn to handle control mode;DEH turn to handle
mode,quit all of the control modes,output value of DEH automationally trace the handle
given value of the servo units.we can kick“handle add”、“handle sub”button to alter
output to rise or descend load,rise or descend rate is 50%/min。

Kick “handle”button of the hard DRAM again,button light is dark after the servo
units judge the trace is normal,servo units turn to automation mode,accept total given valve
signal.
M during the rise speed,the set can’t allow to turn emergency handle control mode.unless
faced the emergency situation in the set paralled in,otherwise can’t turn to handle mode.
13.2 fault switch to handle
If the communication is fault,servo units automationally turn to handle mode,
“emergency handle”button light of the hard DRAM is bright.operator can point kick
“handle add”、“handle sub”button to add or sub the accordance valve,add or sub rate is
50%/min。
After the communication is normal,judge trace button light of servo units is dark,then the
servo units turn to automation mode,accept total given valve signal.

XIV、 Automation zero and amplitude setting function

Before the set hasn’t start up in formal,we need automation zero and amplitude setting
fuction.
l After start timing oil pump,waiting timing oil pressure is normal,and the timing system is
action.first conduct tripped brake and open main steam gate,to make the set enter into impluse
starting state.
l Kick open the zero and amplitude setting frame,kick“CV1 seting”button,the light of
CV1setting will bright,valve will open and close once automatically,PC record the zero and
amplitude of the servomotor .
l If the CV1 setting is failed,but the light is bright,it indicate that setting function isn’t under
progress normally.we need do the fuction again.
l According to the actual measured fully open and closed value of hydraulic
servomotor ,handle input zero and amplitude
l now that the set function has setting over,the set is in normal running,don’t do such function
easily.

XV、 use of repair valve

When the set isn’t run,because no steam entering into real impluse starting ,speed control
loop couldn’t put into operation.the only method to make valve test is the use of repair valve
before set running.
l After start timing oil pump,waiting timing oil pressure is normal,and the 
timing system is action.first conduct tripped brake and open main steam 
gate,to make the set enter into impluse starting state.  
l Kick the repair valve button bright,input valve change rate and target

valve directly,the valve will open to the target location.Then we can do 
relevant test.。 
l when the test is over,kick button light dark,the valve closed to zero 
automatic. 

M Note:when the set running as normal,don’t kick the repair valve 
button light bright,which keeps valve location fixed and lost control,and 
then influence the set running as normal.  

XVI、 analog simulation

16.1 simulation put into operation


The factors of DEH run in simulation are: 
l The set has tripped operation; 
l Simulation button put into operation; 
Kick “DEH simulation”, popping simulation window. under simulation mode,
“simulation mode”light bright,which idicates DEH has entered simulation 
mode.Operationer conduct simulation according to the set running step. 
During the set impluse starting,we can set fuel as 0%,and starting 
pressure as 20%,therefore we can change main steam pressure only by 
starting  pressure;After the set paralled in,we can alter total fuel or 
starting pressure to change main steam pressure.other operation steps as 
above state.  
16.2 simulation cut off mode
Kick the button light dark,“simulation mode”light dark,which idicates 
the set has exit the simulation mode. 
M Note:After the simulation test,we should assure the simulation 
button light is dark,or else it will influence the judgement which computer 
make to the set state,and then influence set security.
