Adobe Pagemaker is an application from Adobe Company. It is a software used for
Desktop Publishing. That means, we can design e-books, brochures, hand bills, visiting cards and
other printing works. After designing in Adobe Pagemaker, you can take print in printing press.
3. How many tools does PageMaker have?
The PageMaker Toolbox contains all of the tools you will use for creating and
manipulating text and objects. It also contains two tools to help you view your publication. This
document will familiarize you with the tools in the toolbox.
4. What is computer DTP?
Desktop publishing (abbreviated DTP) is the creation of documents using page layout
skills on a personal computer. Desktop publishing software can generate layouts and produce
typographic quality text and images comparable to traditional typography and printing.

your mouse to create a rectangular box.
 Release the mouse once the text box is of the size you want.

13. How do I edit text in PageMaker?

Story editor is a word processing program it helps to work large amount of
data easily. We can edit, find and replace, check the spelling of text. We open story
editor in “Edit menu” and “edit story” is click.

2. Define spelling.
Story editor is help to check the spelling in page maker. It is opened by click
“utilities menu” and chooses “spelling” then it will display a dialog box with
correct spelling list. We can change the correct word for the misspelled word.

3. How can you find the repeated words?


Story editor is help to find the repeated words in page maker when it is
misspelled. This is difficult to change when misspelled words in more number of
page. So we use “find” to easily find the misspelled words in whole document.

4. What is a Table?
It is a collection of data in row and column format. Each data is entering into
a cell. To create a table click “Edit menu” and choose “Insert object” after that
select the “Adobe table 3.0 then give no of rows and columns.

5. What is Master page?


Master page are non printing pages it helps to a foundation of entire
publication. To create master page click “L and R” icon on bottom left of
Publication page. Then common design to all pages is designed.

6. Define styles.
It is the set of format setting that is to name, save and apply to paragraph.
Click “Type menu” and choose “define styles” then click “New” button and define
the user style like character styles.

7. How can you rearrange pages?


We can rearrange the pages in publication easily using sort pages in
PageMaker. Click “Layout menu” and choose “sort pages” then rearrange the
pages in order to drag and drop according to our desire.

8. What is masking object?


Masking object defines to display a portion of an object through a drawing.
To mask an abject, first click “Element menu” and choose “Mask” then the portion
of an object is masked.

9. What are the difference between group and ungroup objects?


Group objects is to combine two are objects into one object. Ungroup object
is to decompose the object into different objects. Click “Element menu” and
Choose “group” and “ungroup”.

10. Define insert page.


To insert page in publication according to number of pages given. Click
“Layout menu” and choose “insert page” then give number of page. It will insert
number of pages.

We want to change the angle of an object in your publication. The Rotating Tool
in the tool box lets you rotate graphics by 360 degrees in increment to .01 degrees.

Tabs are nonprinting characters that let you position text at specific location
within a text block. Tabs can help you create columns of text within a text block. We can you
insert a tab by pressing the Tab key.
9. What is use of Bullets and Numbering Plug-in?

A bullet is a small picture, usually a dot,used to identify an item in a list. We can


add bullets or numbers to consecutive paragraphs, to all paragraphs with the specific style, to
every paragraphs in a story, or to only selected paragraphs.

10. Define Indents.

An Indent is a set amount of space between the first or last word in a line of text
and the right or left margin. Indents let you move text inward from either the right or left margin
without changing the original margin settings.
