The Ideal Scope Mount System (ISMS) originated in a customer
2017 request to help develop a way to mount the optics to a rifle in
such a way that the rings did not obscure the turrets of the
scope. With traditional mounting solutions, the user has a
choice between obscuring either the elevation or the windage
adjustments (and in some cases, both!)
The ISMS feature our patented diagonal cut rings making for a
slimmer profile mount. We also added indexing marks to the rear ring to draw the eye
to the adjustment reading of the turrets.
We machine the mounts from 7075 T651 billet aluminum, as this material is lightweight and
extremely strong, even outperforming construction steel in several aspects. Our fasteners are 12.9
Grade steel with zinc-nickel corrosion resistance, and they come pre-waxed to ensure proper torque
values.
The Spuhr Interface, which can be found on all our mounts,
and on most of our weapon upgrade kits, allows the user
to attach a variety of our 30 different accessories and
Picatinny interfaces to the scope mount with high
repeatability (and without having to replace parts of the
mount or having to re-zero the scope in between changes) –
which is especially appreciated on a bolt action rifle that only
has a scope base or a dovetail on the receiver
This is why the ISMS is the original scope mounting system and not just another scope mount.
The integrated bubble level in the rear of the mount and the 10-degree “wedge” we include with
all our mounts (to make installation as easy as possible by aligning the bottom of the erector housing
ISMS PRESENTATION of the scope to the bridge of the mount, thus aligning the reticle with bubble level and the mount
body) adds additional value to the package.
Today the ISMS is offered in more than 70 different models for 30, 34, 35, 36, and 40 mm tube
IDEAL SCOPE MOUNT SYSTEM diameters, and in varying heights and tilts, and for Picatinny and STANAG rails, as well as for
different platforms such as Accuracy International, SAKO TRG, and Sauer STR dovetails. The latest
addition, introduced in 2016, is the QDP-series with quick release levers.
