Saroj KC and Shreeram Paudel from BFBS Nepal recently completed a two-week trip around the UK to visit Gurkha units and the BFBS HQ in Chalfont. It was their first visit to UK and both of them were excited and thrilled to be here in the first place. They started their visit from Catterick Garrison and headed towards south where the Gurkha units were based. They met Gurkha soldiers and their families in various locations and had a chance to speak to them in person. It was indeed an excellent opportunity for them to meet the members of the Brigade of Gurkhas and learn about the organisation, its history and the areas where the soldiers serve.
The visit also comprised a training day at Chalfont where they met their colleagues from the various departments within SSVC. A sightseeing tour of London gave them some relief amid a very busy schedule.
Having visited ten Gurkha units and sub-units in a quick succession the duo returned to Nepal with a better understanding of the Brigade of Gurkhas and its soldiers. They were really appreciative of the visit and thanked the units that hosted them throughout and BFBS Radio for making it happen.
