Global Brands
The
Global Brands division (formerly Brands, Consumers & New
Ventures) provides leadership, focus and expertise to develop BBC
Worldwide properties into international multi-format brands.
The business works across brands including Lonely Planet,
Dancing with the Stars, Top Gear, BBC Earth and
Doctor Who, developing them on an international scale to
deliver even higher returns for the company. Through expanding
brands into different areas of entertainment - such as live events,
theatrical, books and licensed consumer products - the division has
grown some of the company's premier brands into international
household names, whilst maintaining their original integrity and
values.
As of 2010, Global Brands has expanded to cover BBC Worldwide's
extensive children's portfolio, bringing flagship properties such
as ZingZillas and 3rd & Bird within the
division. The team also has a long-standing partnership with
Ragdoll, which see them manage properties including the Teletubbies
and the double BAFTA winning In the
Night Garden.
The team also heads the live events and exhibitions business for
the company, bringing live acts such as Dancing with the
Stars, Walking with Dinosaurs, Top Gear,
Doctor Who and In the Night Garden to audiences,
both on a domestic and international scales.
