ideas.
BBC Worldwide's partnership with independent producers is a key
focus for Content & Production; the team helps to ensure
independent producers and UK talent are well represented around the
world. Services provided include the�Indies
Portal - a restricted access website that gives up to
date programme sales information to independent producers.
Content & Production works closely with Sales
& Distribution on behalf of Indies and the BBC to secure
co-production funding. The team works with broadcast partners
around the world to create landmark programming such as Life and to
ensure the continuation of popular titles such as the recently
resurrected Primeval.
The business also has a dedicated formats sales team which
licenses formats around the world. Dancing with the Stars, the
international version of the BBC UK show, Strictly Come Dancing has
now been licensed to over 35 territories around the world. Five new
territories across Asia and Europe picked up the format in 2010
alone. The show is the world's most successful reality TV
programme, as recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records
2010.
Content & Production is a global production business with
wholly owned local production offices in New York, LA, Mumbai and
Paris. It also operates a network of production companies with
outfits in Cologne, Toronto, Moscow, Buenos Aires and Rio de
Janiero.
