Radiohead drawn into South Park
South Park
The four foul-mouthed boys have become cult viewing
Radiohead are to further stamp their mark on America by making a guest appearance in cult cartoon South Park.

The Oxford band will appear in a forthcoming episode entitled Scott Tenorman Must Die.

Radiohead
Amnesiac is considered another experimental offering

The group have recently enjoyed US success with their fifth album Amnesiac, which reached number two in the charts.

US fans will be able to see the group immortalised in the controversial cartoon on 11 July on the Cartoon network.

The episode revolves around eight-year-old Cartman and his quest to impress his friends.

South Park, the creation of Matt Stone and Trey Parker, has caused uproar in both the US and UK mainly because of the prolific swearing by the characters.

Other musical acts which have made guest appearances on the show include The Cure's Robert Smith, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn and the Beastie Boys.

Hollywood Bowl

Radiohead have just returned from a well-received tour of the US, showcasing Amnesiac.

The experimental band will be heading back out in August for the second leg, finishing at the Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl.

Their fourth offering, Kid A, was also a huge success, topping the US charts in 2000.

They were the first British act in three years to get a number one in the US, with the experimental album.

Cult

British bands of late have been struggling to make any headway in the unpredictable American market.

But Radiohead have managed to break the duck and have achieved cult status among US music fans.

Amnesiac, which features the hit single The Pyramid Song, went straight into the number one spot in the UK charts.

It is currently sitting at number 28.
