Admission Requirements & ProcedureCandidates having a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Computer Sc. & Engg., Electrical, Energy Systems, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mining, Production, Petrochemical, or a Masters degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Physics, (with adequate background in Mathematics) are eligible to apply for M.Tech. admission. Admission for M.Tech. programme is offered in May every year on the basis of GATE score alone or GATE score and interview for regular research students. Admission for other categories of candidates is on the basis of academic record, experience and interview. Candidates having bachelor's or master's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental Science and Engineering, Mechanical, Metallurgical, and Master of Science degree in Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Toxicology, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Meteorology, Microbiology, Physics, Public Health, Statistics (with Mathematics at the Higher Secondary Intermediate Level) are eligible for Ph.D. admission. Admission for Ph.D. programme is offered on the basis of academic record and interview held twice every year before commencement of the semesters for all categories of candidates. Financial Aid M. Tech. The students selected for the M.Tech. programme are considered for Teaching Assistantship. The amount of the assistantship is Rs. 3000/- per month. Ph.D. Students selected for the Ph.D. programme are considered for teaching assistantship based on the following norms: Those students having BE/M.Sc. with valid GATE Score get assistantship of Rs. 5000- 5600/- per month and those students having M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent qualifications are considered for assistantship of Rs. 6000-6400 per month. The students are required to assist in teaching or research, to the extent of 8 hours of work per In addition, individual faculty members recruit project sponsored M.Tech. and Ph.D. students often at enhanced stipend levels, whose thesis is derived from research specific to the projct. |
