The Nov. 4 Riddick Bowe-Evander Holyfield fight won an estimated pay-per-view buy r a t e of 650,000 homes, according to a survey of cable operators by Time Warner Sports.

The figure, about 2.4% of the 27.5 million universe able to receive it, is down from 910,000 buys for each of the last two Bowe-Holyfield fights in 1992 and 1993. But it beat earlier projections of a 500,000 to 600,000 buy rate, probably due to the last-minute cancellation of a Mike Tyson fight scheduled for the same night on Fox.
