81 MM SYSTEM
Developed by Hirtenberger Defence Systems (HDS), the 81mm M8 mortar system comprises a 81mm bipod mortar
(ground mount or vehicle mount) a full family of ammunition natures, a sighting system and modular digital fire control
system. With a maximum range of 6 500m (M8 S-1365) and high sustained rate of fire the M8 provides organic indirect
fire support to manoeuvre forces. The M8 is man portable ground mounted mortar and also has a vehicle mount for
integration into armoured vehicles, when integrated with a digital fire control system, accuracy is increased significantly
increasing operational effectiveness.
BIPOD BARREL AND BREECH CAP

VEHICLE MOUNT
The 81mm mortar vehicle mount is designed to be fitted directly into the
Pandur 6x6 armoured mortar carrier, and can also be fitted into any other
armoured vehicle with minor modifications. The mount consists of a
turntable and mono pod and is capable of 3600 rotation, it is completely
mechanical, allowing it to continue to function when the vehicle, or power
unit, suffers complete power lose. When integrated with a pointing system
(MDAS), and fire control system (ARC-Fire) a mounted mortar unit can quickly
react to the tactical situation by rapidly deploying to firing positions, accurately
engaging targets and quickly redeploying to avoid counter battery fire.

ARC-FIRE TM INTEGRATED FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM
ARC-Fire is a fully integrated digital fire control C2 system that links commanders, fire support coordination centres, forward observers, fire direction
centres and weapons. The system functions on laptops, tablets and handheld computers, each computer may also operate as a stand alone ballistic
computer. ARC-Fire is optimised to support shoot and scoot operations.
