I'm not sure what it says about me that I found many of the action scenes in this film more thrilling than the most of those in The Pacific and Band of Brothers. In many ways, the depiction of brutality reminded me of Quentin Tarantino.
In general, the film was mildly entertaining. Many of the set pieces have a limited scope, giving the impression that they were made on a tight budget. Nonetheless, as a film that manages to somehow succeed capture some of the thrilling energy of games like, say, Call of Duty. While I did notice a few instances of questionable CGI, they were few and far between, so it didn’t bothered me that much.
All in all, a pretty good action war film that fans of the genre might enjoy.

Lange her das ich einen Kriegsfilm gesehen hab. Noch länger her das es ein verfüntiger aus der B-Movie Kategorie war.
Beyond Valkyrie: Dawn of the 4th Reich bietet dabei einen durchaus interessanten Ansatz. Rund um eine Geschichte, welche zeitgleich mit Operation Valkyrie spielt. Natürlich ist die Operation auf den Erfolg geplant, doch mit dem scheitern dreht sich dann alles in eine andere Richtung.
Sean Patrick Flanery macht seine Rolle als Captain ganz gut. Auftritte von einigen bekannten Gesichtern aller Rudger Hauer, Tom Sizemore und Stephan Lang inklusive.
Der Streifen setzt dabei ganz klar auf Kriegs Action statt Moral zu predigen. Das funktioniert dank fast ausschließlich handgemachter Action ganz gut. Der Bodycount ist locker über 200.

It’s a fine enough war movie. The acting was solid. The affects a little strapped by the modest movie budget. Not much cgi and much of it was mediocre.
Mopping up the last few Claudio Fah movies that I need to see, and this is one he said was his favourite. To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of this neverending glut of DTV WWII films, but I'll certainly make an exception with this.
With a fine cast, boasting such video store luminaries as Rutger Hauer, Sean Patrick Flanery and Tom Sizemore, it had enough action sequences to keep even the most ADHD afflicted entertained, while the storyline proved engaging and not too historically inaccurate!
