Willie Parker retires as a Steeler

LATROBE, PA (WECT) - Clinton's Willie Parker officially retired from football tonight, and he did it with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Parker returned to training camp to call it a career, retiring with the organization that he was with for six years.

Parker rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2005 through 2007 after taking over for Jerome Bettis as the Steelers' starting halfback. He made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2007 and still has the longest rushing touchdown in Super Bowl history (75 yards in Super Bowl XL).

Parker recently took an assistant coaching job at West Virginia Wesleyan.
