Caborn hails Ewood ticket pledge
Richard Caborn
Caborn wants other clubs to follow Blackburn's example
Sports Minister Richard Caborn has backed Blackburn's pledge to use TV cash to reduce their ticket prices.

The Ewood Park outfit are one of several top-flight clubs whose attendances have been hit this season by the rising cost of going to games.

Caborn told the Daily Mirror: "I urge other clubs to follow Blackburn's lead and put fans and the community at the heart of the club.

"I applaud their decision to use money from TV income to cut ticket prices."

A new 2.7bn TV deal for the Barclays Premiership begins next season, with even the club finishing bottom set to receive around 30m.

Caborn, a Sheffield United supporter, said: "The new TV deal is a great opportunity to address ticket prices, with billions of pounds being pumped into football.

"That money shouldn't just go into the pockets of players and agents."
