Tranmere sign Leicester defender Luke O'Neill on loan

Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere have signed Leicester City defender Luke O'Neill on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old is a second year professional who has made three first-team appearances for the Foxes and has represented England at under-17 level.

Rovers manager Les Parry said: "I'm pleased to have been able to bring Luke in on loan.

"With Shaleum Logan suspended for two games we needed cover at right-back and Luke will provide that."

Parry added: "He is a talented young defender who has a bright future ahead of him. I'd like to thank Leicester manager Nigel Pearson for allowing Luke to join us for a month."

O'Neill is set to make his Rovers debut against Leyton Orient on Saturday at Prenton Park.
