Goals from Laurence Ellis and John Baird were enough for Raith to beat Partick and end a run of six games without a win.

The Jags slightly shaded the opening period, but it was the home side who broke the deadlock on the half-hour when Allen Walker's corner was headed across goal by Grant Murray for Ellis to steal in and convert from close range.

The home side doubled their advantage 10 minutes after the break through top scorer Baird's seventh goal of the season, the striker getting on to the end of Brian Graham's cross to head into the bottom corner.

Raith had chances to extend their lead but comfortably saw out a result which moves them above the Glaswegians.
