A second-half blitz of goals gave Partick Thistle a handsome win over Ayr United in the First Division.

The deadlock was broken on 49 minutes, David Rowson firing past Kevin Cuthbert with a left-foot shot.

Paul Cairney's volley and Chris Erskine's neat finish put Thistle firmly in command.

Erskine was fouled in the area by John Robertson late on and Kris Doolan converted the resulting penalty in the stoppage time.
