Who Threw the Shoe?

Authors: Hoàng Ngọc Đoan Trang, Phùng Nguyên Quang

Illustrator: Phùng Nguyên Quang
Translator: Alisha Berger
Crocodile is about to doze off when someone throws a shoe at his head!

“Whose shoe is this?” he snaps.

2/17
He has an idea.

“Perhaps this shoe belongs to frog.”

3/17
“Is this yours, frog?” Crocodile demands.

“No, my foot is too tiny for that big shoe!” Frog answers nervously.

4/17
“Is that so?”
Crocodile leaves. He gets another idea.
“This shoe must belong to ostrich!”

5/17
Crocodile calls, “Here’s your shoe, ostrich!”

“But my foot is too slim for that wide shoe!” Ostrich panics.

6/17
“Is that so? Grrrrr...”

Crocodile is getting angrier. “This shoe must belong to a rabbit.”

7/17
He growls, “To whom does this shoe belong?”

The rabbits shake with fear. “No, no, our feet are too long for that shoe! It could never
fit us!"

8/17
“But it must belong to someone!” Crocodile leaves in anger.

At that moment, a snake crawls by.

9/17
Crocodile growls, “Snake! This shoe is yours, isn’t it?”

Snake stutters, “B..b.b..but… I don’t even have feet!”

10/17
Embarrassed, Crocodile flees. He can't figure out who threw the shoe!
“When I find out whose shoe this is," Crocodile shouts, "I’m going to give them a piece
of my mind!”

11/17
At that moment…

… a lion charges towards him.

12/17
“I’m looking for a shoe," Lion says. "Did you see it, crocodile?”

13/17
Crocodile shrugs. "I haven't seen any shoes this morning."

14/17
What is he going to do with the shoe now?

Well, Crocodile thinks, Someone threw it at me...

15/17
The shoe flies through the air.

"OUCH!" Bear growls. "Whose shoe is this?"
