HANDING OVER & MACHINERY STATUS REPORT
Welcome on board and happy sailing. Date-29.04.2025
• Vessel was built on 2005 at Sasebo Heavy Industries Co Ltd, Japan. The vessel is owned by
APJ Shipping Ltd, Kolkata, India on 19th AUG 2024.
• Presently the vessel is on TANGEDCO charter.
• Copy of CP terms and condition is kept at CE’s cabin & a copy on ECR.
• Vessel has completed Annual survey on 08th March 2025.
Following may be noted on the present status of machineries on board.
MAIN ENGINE (MITSUI MAN B&W 7S50MC-C)
• The MCR is 12549 BHP @ 106 RPM & CSO is 11298 BHP @ 102.3 RPM.
• The engine is operated up to 94 rpm with clear uptake and normal parameters.
• Automation / safety trips and alarms are functional & last tried out on 16.04.2025 .
• Emergency manoeuvring was last tried out on 07.04.2025 .
• Every month performance report taken at laden condition up to 94 rpm same sent to
office with month end report. Exhaust temps are around 350/380.
• EPL settings are done as per maker’s instructions. Report available in CE’s cabin. The
manual of same in C’E cabin.
Major jobs done in my tenure:-
• In place stuffing box overhauling of all 7 units.
• Air cooler water side cleaning on 17.03.2025 and air side cleaning on 17.02.2025 .
• No 7 unit decarbonisation and cylinder liner renewal with new liner jacket is done on
01.03.2025 .
• Last crank web deflection taken and recorded on 05.03.2025.
• No 4 unit decarbonisation with new piston rod, new piston & new piston ring is done on
29.03.2025 .
• No 3 unit decarbonisation with new piston ring is done on 31.03.2025 .
AUXILIARY ENGINES (DAIHASTU 5DC-17 ,400 KW):
• There is one spare cylinder head of AE onboard. A.E cylinder head removed from #2, unit-
1 on 28.04.2025 is kept in E/R workshop, needs to be pressure tested and overhauled.
• There are 3 new liners on board, kept in engine room workshop store .
• Vessel is equipped with 3 main generators, 400 kw each.
• Normal sea load is around 300 kw with fire pump running.
• In this vessel AE jacket cooler cleaning is done by diverting the cooling water to M/E
jacket cooler. After cleaning of AE jacket cooler during taking it on load it has been
observed that sometimes AE# 1 get air locked. So during that time pls runAE # 1 on no
load and after the HT/LT pressure comes take it on load.

Aux Engine-1
Major jobs done in my tenure:-
• Air cooler air side cleaned on 20.11.2024.
• On 25.11.2024 around 1358 hrs. Aux engine-1 get tripped by Lube oil low pressure. Due
to preferential tripping busbar load reduced and shifted to Aux engine-2, immediately
Aux engine-3 started & plant put back to normal. After further investigation vessel found
that Lube oil pump is not building up pressure, Lube oil pump taken out from the engine
& dismantled, found driving gear shaft completely sheared off & broken into two pieces .
That time vessel don’t had any spares for Lube oil pump. New received lube oil pump
installed on AE-1 on 08.12.2024, engine tried out, found satisfactory.
• Last crank web deflection measured and recorded on 09.02.2025.
• AE-1 Governor oil renewed on 13.02.2025.
• AE-1 sump cleaning and sump oil renewal done on 20.02.2025.
• Main L.O, T/C Lube oil & centrifugal filters routine is carried out on regular basis.
• AE-1 Alarms & trips are tried out on 16.04.2025 , Found Satisfactory.
• In AE-1 abnormal sound observed, in trouble shooting on 09.03.2025 found No. 2 unit
piston gudgeon pin bush bearing broken. Unit no 2 dismantled, found piston fitted with 4
piston rings but as per maker’s manual piston has 3 rings. As per office instruction an old
piston with 3 rings set, found in engine room store is fitted with new supplied piston rings
& new gudgeon pin bush bearing. One exhaust valve on the AE-1 no. 2 unit also found
broken, so new spare cylinder head(assembled with old valves) is installed. New
connecting rod has been ordered in Reqn. No JAOU-V-25-044.After receiving the
requisition connecting rod of the no 2 unit needs to be renewed as small end side of the
con rod found oval during inspection.

• A/E no-1, unit-1 & 2 injectors routine carried out with injectors, overhauled with new
nozzles on 20.03.2025.
• A/E no-1 unit-3,4 & 5 injectors routine carried out with injectors, overhauled with new
nozzles on 23.03.2025.
• A/E no-1, unit 1 & 4 fuel pump overhauled on 25.03.2025 with new o' rings ,backup rings
& deflectors .plungers found erosion mark, same plunger/barrels fitted back as only one
set new plunger barrel present onboard. Plunger/barrels must be renewed on next
overhaul.
• A/E no-1, unit 2,3 & 5 fuel pump overhauled on 26.03.2025 with new o' rings , backup
rings & deflectors .plungers found erosion mark, same plunger/barrels fitted back as only
one set new plunger barrel present onboard. Plunger/barrels must be renewed on next
overhaul.
• A/E no-1,turbocharger overhauling is done with new bearings, new seal rings and new
o'rings on 29.04.2025.

• It has been observed that AE-1 fuel notch goes maximum upto 30 marks before it’s
touches the limiter screw in around 270 kw load ,same has been reported to office(in the
email “Aux. engine issues”,date-30.11.2024).
• # 1 Aux. Engine fuel pump injection timing checked found as per maker’s manual.
Aux Engine-2
• Air cooler air side cleaned on 21.11.2024.
• AE # 2 Sump oil partial renewal done on 28.12.2024 as per office instruction.
• AE#2 Governor oil renewed on 14.02.2025.
• Last crank web deflection measured and recorded on 22.02.2025
• Main L.O, T/C Lube oil & centrifugal filters routine is carried out on regular basis.
• AE-2 Alarms & trips tried out on 16.04.2025, Found Satisfactory.
• A/E no-2, unit-1,2,.3 & 4 injectors routine carried out with injectors, overhauled with old
nozzles on 15.03.2025.
• A/E no-2, unit-5 injector routine carried out with injector, overhauled with old nozzles on
17.03.2025.
• A/E no-2, turbocharger overhauling carried out with new bearings, new nozzle ring &
new overhaul kit on 21.03.2025.
• A/E no-2,unit 2 & 5 fuel pump overhauled on 03.04.2025 with new o' rings ,backup rings
& deflectors .plungers found erosion mark, same plunger/barrels fitted back as only one
set new plunger barrel present onboard. Plunger/barrels must be renewed on next
overhaul..
• A/E no-2,unit 1,3 & 4 fuel pump overhauled on 04.04.2025 with new o' rings ,backup
rings & deflectors .plungers found erosion mark, same plunger/barrels fitted back as only
one set new plunger barrel present onboard. Plunger/barrels must be renewed on next

• A/E no-2 fuel injection timing checked on 04.04.2025 , all units fuel injection timing found
7° before tdc but as per maker's manual. Timing is 8° before tdc.
• A/E no-2, No 4 unit decarbonisation with new piston rings & overhauled cylinder head is
done on 07.04.2025.Piston 1st and 2nd ring groove clearance found more than limit and as
vessel don’t have new piston on board, same piston has been fitted back.
• A/E no-2, No 2 unit decarbonisation with new piston rings & overhauled cylinder head is
done on 17.04.2025.Piston 1st and 2nd ring groove clearance found more than limit and as
vessel don’t have new piston on board, same piston has been fitted back.
• A/E no-2, No 3 unit decarbonisation with new piston rings & overhauled cylinder head is
done on 23.04.2025.Piston 1st ring groove clearance found more than limit and as vessel
don’t have new piston on board, same piston has been fitted back.
• A/E no-2, No 1 unit decarbonisation with new piston rings & overhauled cylinder head is
done on 28.04.2025.Piston 1st ring groove clearance found more than limit and as vessel
don’t have new piston on board, same piston has been fitted back.

• It has been observed that AE-2 fuel notch goes maximum upto 26 marks before it’s
touches the limiter screw in around 190 kw load, same has been reported to office (in the
email “Aux. engine issues”,date-30.11.2024).
• During AE-2 fuel pump timing inspection found all units fuel injection timing 7° before
TDC but as per maker’s manual injection timing is 8° before TDC, same has been reported
to office.
Aux Engine-3
• AE-3 sump cleaning and sump oil renewal done on 10.04.2025.
• AE-3 crank web deflection measured and recorded on 24.03.2025.
• AE-3 Governor oil renewed on 15.02.2025.
• A/E no-3 air cooler air side cleaning carried out on 03.03.2025 .
• # 3 Aux. Engine fuel pump injection timing checked found as per maker’s manual.
• Main L.O, T/C Lube oil & centrifugal filters routine is carried out on regular basis.
• A/E no-3, no-1 & 2 unit fuel injectors routine carried out with injectors overhauled with
old nozzles on 06.03.2025.
• A/E no-3, no-3 & 4 unit fuel injector routine carried out with injectors overhauled with
new nozzles on 12.03.2025.
• A/E no-3, no-5 unit fuel injectors routine carried out with injectors, overhauled with new
nozzles on 13.03.2025.
• AE-3 Alarms & trips tried out on 10.04.2025 , Found Satisfactory.
• It has been observed that AE-3 fuel notch goes maximum upto 30 marks before it’s
touches the limiter screw in around 270 kw load ,same has been reported to office(in the
email “Aux. engine issues”,date-30.11.2024).

BOILER (VERTICAL COMPOSITE MAKE : MIURA):
• Working Satisfactory.
• Boiler automation is fully functional. All alarms and trips tried out on 11.04.2025 and
found satisfactory.
• Before every port arrival boiler burner & line filter routine to be carried out.
• Boiler is firing on Low firing mode. Please maintain 3 to 4.5 bar steam pressure to avoid
Aux boiler to cut-off.
• Boiler starting & stopping is done on Diesel oil to avoid clogging.
• During boiler exhaust side cleaning job crack observed on boiler furnace wall. Boiler
Furnace crack repair work with refractory material has been carried out on 25.02.2025.
• Boiler oil furnace side & carried out on 25.02.2025.
• Boiler blowdown overboard valves renewed with new valves on 17.02.2025. Both the
overboard valves fitted are return type.
• Boiler exhaust side cleaning has been done on 18.03.2025.
PENDING REQUISITIONS:

PURIFIERS:
HFO PURIFIERS – MITSUBISHI (SJ30G):
• HFO purifier No.1 and No. 2 working satisfactory in auto.
• All routines carried out as per PMS.
LO PURIFIER – MITSUBISHI (SJ30G):
• LO purifier No. 1 working satisfactory in auto, No.2 is not operational.
• All routines carried out as per PMS.
AIR COMPRESSORS: TANABE (H-73):
• Both compressors running satisfactorily on Auto.
• No. 1 Main air compressor intercooler and after cooler cleaned on 12.09.2024.
• No. 2 Main air compressor intercooler and after cooler cleaned on 25.03.2025
• All routines carried out as per PMS.
PUMPS (NANIWA PUMPS):

• Monthly changeover of the pumps is routine practice.
• All sea water pumps are running satisfactorily.
• Every arrival loading port both ballast pumps and fire pumps gland packing to be
renewed.
BALLASTING DE BALLASTING:
• Vessel installed with TECHCROSS system.
• Working Satisfactory.
• Sufficient chemicals are on board.
• TRO unit chemicals are kept in ECR.
FRESH WATER GENERATOR (SASAKURA (KE-20):
• Running satisfactorily. Fresh water production-7 to 9 tons per day.
AIR CON & DOM FRIDGE SYSTEM:
• Make of Aircon & Refer compressor are Namirei Showa with Daikin compressors.
• Aircon working satisfactorily.
• Monthly changeover of fridge compressors is routine practice.
OWS, INCINERATOR, SEWAGE PLANT:
O.W.S (USC-20)
• Oily water separator operates satisfactorily.
• The overboard valve key is at CE’s office.
• Spare coalescer filters available on board & kept in Store.
SEWAGE PLANT (TAIKO (SBT-40)
• The sewage plant is in working satisfactorily . Alarms and pump cut in is being tested
regularly.
INCINERATOR (MIURA (BGW-30N)
• Incinerator burner last cleaned on 27.02.2025 .
• Tested for satisfactory operation, sludge burning is not done in this vsl.
STEERING GEAR SYSTEM ( MITSUBISHI SFC 80)
• Steering gear system working satisfactorily.
HYD WINCH/WINDLAS SYSTEM (MITSUBISHI):
• Systems is running satisfactorily.

VALVES & PIPE LINES IN ER:
• Most of the sea water & fresh water pipes renewed but still few pending pipes and valves
needs renewal/ repair.
STERN TUBE
• Condition Satisfactory, 6 monthly system Lube oil analysis report of 02.04.2025 received
satisfactory.
EM GEN, FIRE PUMP, LB ENGINES:
• All safety equipment is being tested/operated regularly.
• Emergency generator running satisfactory, load tested & same logged on engine room
log book & safety routine book.
• Emergency fire pump to be try out every week.
• Stbd L/B engine abnormal sound observed during ISM audit. In trouble shooting, found
#3 unit exhaust valve push rod bent, tappet piece broken & exhaust valve stuck. Life boat
engine dismantled and overhauled on 21.12.2024, Engine tried out found satisfactory.
BUNKER TANKS:
• The vessel has following FO/DO storage Tanks.
• 1C,2C &3C FO Tank and FO WING Tank(P) – In use for VLSFO
• Stbd side aft wing tank- used as MGO tank.
• 2C & 3C FO Tanks- presently contains bunker ( VLSFO)
• There is an issue with bunker tanks soundings specially in 1© and 2© VLSFO tanks. Small
change in trim creates huge difference in quantities. Office already intimated about
same.
MISCELLANEOUS:
• Weekly work done report to be send to office on every sunday.
• Boiler water and cooling water test report has to be filled in weekly report folder &
month end folder.
• Currently vessel is using rochem chemicals and test kits.
• Currently vessel is using shell lube oils.
• Lube oil test report has to be filled in weekly report folder.
• Rochem BW & CW excel sheet has to be filled in month end folder.
• Major spare inventory Gen excel sheet has to be filled in month end folder.
• AE performance and AE running hours sheet of engine room log abstract needs to be
filled in month end folder.

• Daily work done report to be send to office on every day.
• Lube oil consumption report to be send to office on 25th of every month.
• Dump steam condenser is cleaned on 03.12.2024.
• AE jacket cooler last cleaned on 08.04.2025 and usually cooler is cleaned every
month.
MISC:-
✓ Table for which all grade oil required complete renewal prior usage of Shell product is
printed and kept in CE’s office and ECR, which to be referred and followed accordingly.
✓ Please go through previous management hand over notes as well to have better
apprehension about past maintenance and other matters of concern. Same can find on
ECR laptop & folder name “ROSCO GINKGO”
