Information Processing Theory
A Reflection Paper

Information Processing Theory (IPT) is one of the most prevalent, living and sensed
phenomena particularly in the academic context and various life experiences- day-to-day
living, history, future events.
Information ,as I define, revolves around the communication system. We
communicate because we want to know something. We communicate because we want
someone to know something.
Information, in addition, is knowledge. We come to know something simply when we
are basically informed.
Information is formed in different types as basis- it can be general, specific, episodic,
conditional, declarative and procedural.
Nevertheless, information involves processes on how it is defined based on its
duration and capacity in the human mind which called as the, “long-term memory and short-
term memory”. Defined processes as well as to how information is primarily registered,
sensed and recognized in the human brain followed how brain holds information in a specific
brief time and capacity. Additionally, there are also processes on how to maintain or revive
faded or blocked information which called as the, “memory methods”.
Focusing in memory methods, these certain procedures are indeed very useful
among humanity specifically in terms of education and daily living. It is barely used in all
manner of life experiences like shopping, adventures, occasions and a lot more.
As a future educator, this theory (IPT), I generally define it as a life-long theory for it
is applied in humanity since the very beginning of life existence up to its extinction. And as it
is effectively helping me on my studies currently, I know I can still use this in my future
studies and life events until the clock stops ticking. Because learning doesn’t stop when you
are finished studying, learning is an unending chain a man can hold until his last breath.
