RE: Environmental Supply Co. Stainless Steel Type “S” Pitot calibration

To Whom It May Concern:

Environmental Supply Company, Inc. manufactures Type “S” Pitot Tubes according to the
design specifications and dimensional requirements stated in the Code of Federal Regulations,
Title 40, Part 60, Appendix A, Method 2 - Determination of Stack Gas Velocity and Volumetric
Flow Rate (Type “S” Pitot Tube). The method states in Section 4.1: Calibration, that Type “S”
Pitot Tubes may be calibrated in a certified wind tunnel to obtain the actual calibration
coefficient, or, alternatively, may have a baseline coefficient value of 0.84 assigned to the pitot if
the dimensional requirements of the method are met.

All Type “S” Pitot Tubes supplied by Environmental Supply Company, Inc. are manufactured at
our facility and machined to very close tolerances. As a quality control standard, a random
sampling of the Type “S” Pitot Tubes manufactured by us are periodically checked and verified
to meet the minimum dimensional requirements of Method 2. Because these dimensional
requirements are periodically verified, Environmental Supply Co., Inc. certifies that the 0.84
baseline coefficient may be assigned to Type “S” Pitot Tubes manufactured by us in the
absence of a wind tunnel calibration.
