3 Spread Footing

This document provides information on the design of spread footings, including: 1. It discusses the design of plain concrete and reinforced concrete spread footings, covering calculations for footing area, dimensions, reinforcement, shear stress, and punching shear. 2. It provides an example problem showing the complete design of a spread footing. 3. It outlines four practice problems involving different footing design scenarios and questions about footing behavior.
