Exploitation of palm waste as an alternative energy source
Abstract: The main objective of this study was to prepare compost using local farm resources which is the palm waste In this experiment, date waste was used to provide energy. As block of ------- it was burned to measure how much electricity can it produce per block. The methods included storing the carbon in the waste and turning it to feul after shaping it . Results. . This source was shown to be an effective way of generating electricity as an alternative source. It can reduce the usage of fossil fuels based on observations from this experiment.
Intro: With the rise in global warming and increasing pollution levels, it is becoming essential to find a viable sustainable source of energy.
The aim of this project is to present how can country exploit the palm tree waste instead of throwing it or burning it to limit the usage of oil or gas. Why palm trees?
The Actual date tree population is about 40 million of which 33 million palms are in Abu Dhabi Emirate alone, also of which 8.5 millions are in Al Ain orchards (UAE News Agency Al Khaleej No. 7763 of 20/08/2000.
1- Palm trees now in the UAE are more than 40 million trees after it was no more than million trees just a few years ago. In addition to palm cultivation in the United Arab Emirates, which is about 8% of the area, planted with fruit in the state, 30% of the total agricultural area. 2- The benefits of the date are almost countless, where it is stated that the date has more than 365 nutritional value high, which was considered an excellent source of thermal energy to the human body. 3- Waste produced. 4- How do they get rid from it in the UAE
How did the idea form? With the help of our supervisor Mrs Buthina who inspired the idea from Abu Dhabis environment. Since we wondered where all this huge amounts of waste end up in the country .

Materials metal bottle palm waste Lighter Templates Cassava flour
Experiment Procedure and Methods: 1. For preparing the burner make a whole under the metallic bottle. 2. Close this whole with the palm waste. 3. Fill the metallic bottle with the palm waste. 4. Use the lighter to burn the lower part of the metal bottle. 5. Wait until it start burning the palm waste. 6. When the waste starts emitting a gas close the metallic bottle by the cover. 7. Put some sand around the cover and make sure thats the gas will not leak out. 8. Wait till the bottle cools down. 9. Get the burned waste and chars it. 10. Mix it with Cassava flour 11. Take the burned waste and put them in the templates 12. Wait until it dry and they are ready to use.
Data After several tries to find a proper lab for applying the experiment in, such as requesting the permission of using the specialized labs in Abu Dhabi Water & and National Energy and Water Research Center we ended up Electricity Authority doing the experiment in the schools lab sacrificing some essential data that need specialized labs and equipment. DATA from our experiment Referring to the information collected from Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority:
Biomass is all biologically-produced matter based in carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The estimated biomass production in the world is 146 billion tons a year, consisting of mostly wild plant growth. Biomass energy is derived from six distinct energy sources: garbage, wood, plants, waste, landfill gases, and alcohol fuels.
Thermal conversion
Thermal conversion processes use heat as the dominant mechanism to convert biomass into another chemical form. The basic alternatives of combustion, Torre faction, pyrolysis, and gasification are separated principally by the extent to which the chemical reactions involved are allowed to proceed (mainly controlled by the availability of oxygen and conversion temperature).

This research project would not have been possible without the support of Mr.Umraz Ahlem Noor Ahlem and Mr. Mohamed Hussain Al Attas from (ADWEA) Water&electricity authority that welcomed us in their authority and listened to our project and gave us some advices from their experience ,also some researches that would help us.A special thanx goes to Mr who ordered the meeting.
Apart from the efforts goes to the . in the institute of applied technology Ms.Maha Almahri for her continues support and communication with the other authorities. The guidance and support received from Ms.Buthaina Abundah who contributed and who are contributing to this project, was vital for the success of the project. we are grateful for their constant support and hel
Note : miss I couldnt find the name of the person that was contacting us to order the meeting ..put it please ^ and I dont know the name of ms.mahas job so I left dots in its place
