Since 1926, the Cal Neva has held an iconic place in Lake Tahoe’s history, once drawing legends like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and JFK to its storied shores. In 2027, the property begins its next chapter as Lake Tahoe Proper Resort & Casino, blending the spirit of its past with Proper’s modern approach to luxury hospitality.

THE RESORT

Set at the meeting point of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe Proper Resort & Casino will offer 198 guest rooms, suites, and private villas, almost all with panoramic lake views. Guests will enjoy two lakefront pools, multiple restaurants and bars, indoor/outdoor private event space, a lively casino, and the historic Frank Sinatra Theater.

Wellness will take center stage with 50,000 square feet of dedicated space, including a destination spa, an indoor pool, hydrotherapy experiences, state-of-the-art fitness, and seasonal programming that connects guests to Tahoe’s natural beauty, from world-class skiing in winter to hiking, boating, and mountain biking in summer. The Wellness Center will also house 3 Padel courts and a free-standing Pickleball building.

PROPER CLUB

Honoring the Cal Neva’s glamorous social history, the members-only Proper Club will feature a private indoor-outdoor clubhouse overlooking the lake, a Hi-Fi listening room, and private wine cellars nestled in the hotel’s iconic tunnels. Members will also receive benefits throughout the property, daily access to the wellness amenities, and year-round cultural programming.
