This is Tamut, a high-ranking priest’s daughter who lived around 900 BC. By CT scanning this mummy’s case, Museum scientists have uncovered more about Tamut and the way she was embalmed. The scans revealed a number of amulets that the embalmers placed on Tamut’s skin and under her wrappings, including a winged goddess on her throat, probably depicting the goddess Nut.
