I modeled this robot using 3dsmax, I exported it in fbx format under zbrush to keep the layers / I then continued to model under zbrush with some wear brushes etc... I then made a rotopology to reduce the number of polygons and I was able to carry out the uv unfolding of the layers using the polygroups and thus paint my cutouts, I then exported the whole thing under substance painter 3d to carry out the texturing, using the alpha masks as well only alpha that I created in photoshop /// I...
