Tropical grassland, also known as the savanna, is home to some of the most famous animals on the planet; big cats such as lions and cheetahs roam the grasslands of African countries such as Kenya, Botswana and Tanzania alongside herds of zebra, elephants and wildebeest. But topical grassland ecosystems are also found in Australia, South America and as far north as Mexico. Tropical grasslands are wide open fertile plains that receive a medium amount of precipitation and high temperatures.
