Originally imported from Paris, the kiosks (small pavilion-like structures) date back to the 19th century, when they occupied squares, city gardens, important tram and bus intersections, and pedestrian avenues. Lisbon's first kiosk opened in Rossio Square in 1869, and soon after there were others, mainly in Art Nouveau style. 150 years later it seems, after all, they came to stay! #Kiosks #Architecture #History #Heritage #StoriesoftheCity #Lisbon #LisbonTailoredTours #LisbonwithPats
